BLASEBALL

Blaseball is a text-based absurdist horror sports fan simulator released July 2020 and developed by The Game Band. It is played via web browser, but extends beyond the website, utilizing the official Twitter pages and Discord server for story-telling. Every week the game is active, a full season and series chamionship is played within Internet League Blaseball, with each season ending in an election by the fans deciding the next new rule(s) to be added next season. The ILB consists of twenty-four fictional teams, hailing anywhere from real world places (like the Canada Moist Talkers) to fictionalized real world places (the Broken Ridge Jazz Hands) to fictional places (the Core Mechanics). Every real life hour is an in-game day, every nine in-game days is a week, and every one hundred in-game days is the regular season. Players play almost all around the clock, no matter the weather, even if it could kill them via incineration by a Rogue Umpire.

Fandom and audience participation are key parts of the splort. None of the players have official designs nor lore, with the only thing actually canon about them being what happens in the game. Instead, the fans come up with designs and lore for the players, usually with fans having their own interpretations.
